School of Business From all of us in the School of Business, we would like to thank you for your interest and confidence that you have instilled in our Institution and we give you the warmest welcome.
Since the founding of Universidad del Norte, in 1966, the School of Business, through the Business Administration Program and from the year 1984 with the Masters in Business Administration and its Specializations programs in Finances, Marketing, Commercial Company management, Human Resources Management, Public Management, International Businesses, Financial Management of Health Services and Logistics of the International Transport of Merchandise, and lately, in 2004, with the program of International Businesses, are contributing to the formation of the administrative and directive guidelines of organizations within the region and the country.
Today we have more than 2600 professionals who have graduated in Business Administration and around 2300 alumni executives from our postgraduate political and economic programs. These numbers credit and endorse our formation processes in the administrative field, contributing to the development of the organizations from a social, political and economic scope.
The undergraduate Business Administration program holds a high quality accreditation and the Masters in Business Administration with the Qualified Registry, has allowed our students and graduates to hold vanguard positions in the decision making processes of regional companies and organizations.
The integral formation of the person in higher education is the mission of our Division. These people are leaders in strategic processes of organizations and directly affect the future with their creations of companies that support the generation of a better social and economic welfare, contributing to the harmonic development of the society, the country and the Colombian Caribbean Coast. For these reasons, the academic programs incorporate into their curriculum the theoretical-practical components that assist our students to develop their enterprising spirit and capacity to create companies.
Our teachers hold the highest academic and professional qualities and share their knowledge with the students of our division. Their interests in the development of professionals with ethical sense and social responsibility within an academic and practical framework of education, is supported by the University-Company relation which allows the organizations of the country support us in the educational process and support the elaboration of joint projects between the student, the professor and the company.
Our academic Work-Study Plan relies upon our relation with more than 200 organizations of the country and foreign countries in which the students are able to carry out their practicum semester and academic activities. The University's link with academic institutions of the country and abroad allow our students and professors to maintain an open interchange of knowledge and practices that connects our educational processes closely to the changes that occur in international and globalized surroundings.
As members of the Colombian Association of Administration Faculties, ASCOLFA, and of the Latin American Council of Administration Schools, CLADEA, the Administrative Sciences Division actively participates in the development of the Administration programs and therefore always searching advanced processes of intellectual development of our professors and our students.
