Through the years, Forum on Europe has reasserted its position as an academic space of meetings between the Colombian Caribbean and Europe that is fully recognized at a local, regional, national and international level. In our schedule of events for 2008, we are pleased to present the second version of the International Education Seminar Forum on Europe: Latin American Connection, which will take place concurrently with the Universities of Valencia, Mainz and Paris XII and the support of the European Union Commission, for having been selected as a winning project of the Erasmus Mundus – Action 4 Program. Other interesting events that will take place are the Seminar on Adolescence and Youth, promoted by “Fundación Carolina”, an entity that for four consecutive years has participated in Forum on Europe; the Law Seminar: International Law Sessions; the Environmental Meeting: Global Environmental Commonalities; the Colloquy on Administrative Issues; the I Symposium on Technology, Communications and Social Movement: Societies before the Digital Challenge; and a varied program of conferences and cultural activities. It is important to note that for the first time Forum on Europe will also take place in another country, at Universidad Técnica Particular in Loja, Ecuador featuring a small sampling of our event through the II Symposium on European and Latin American Cities: Historic Downtowns of Europe and Latin America. The XI version of Forum on Europe with its rich and varied program, is a high level academic event, but above all, is the evidence of our work and dedication, as part of an Institution of excellence, to strengthen an international image through friendship, cooperation and solidarity between countries. ¡Welcome to the 2008 Forum on Europe!
