The Latin American Congress of Mathematicians (CLAM) has for objectives to foster the development of mathematical research in Latinamerica and the Caribean, to make visible the mathematical outcome of the region, and to foster the profesional partnerships among the mathematicians of the region and the rest of the world. This Congress will take place every four years, and during each Congress the UMALCA Prizes will be delivered as a recognition to the most talented young mathematicians working in the region.
The previous four congresses have taken place in:
Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, in 2000
Cancun, Mexico, in 2004,
Santiago de Chile, Chile, in 2009
Cordoba, Argentina in 2012.
In this oportunity we have the priviledge of having the V CLAM in the campus of the Universidad del Norte in the caribean city of Barranquilla, Colombia.
