The Department of Finance and Accounting at Universidad del Norte invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Finance. We are seeking candidates with a clear commitment to continuous improvement in the teaching of Finance at the undergraduate and graduate level, and high-quality research in a developing country context. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ESG, Fintech, Data Analytics, Corporate Finance, and Risk Management. The selected candidate will teach Finance courses in English such as Company Valuation, International Finance, International Financial Management, Derivatives, Capital Markets. Knowledge of at least two of the following software/platform: SPSS, STATA, R, PYTHON, ATLAS TI, NVIVO, POWER BI, Bloomberg, and accounting software.
What we are looking for
We are interested in candidates with:
- Completed master's degree in Finance or Quantitative Methods applied to Finance
- Interest in contributing to a variety of courses in undergraduate and graduate programs in finance and business.
- Proven potential for research and publications in high quality international peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to make significant contributions beyond teaching.
- Relevant work experience in Finance and/or Quantitative Methods will be considered an advantage.
- Command of English at a native level. Proficiency in a second language in addition to English is not required, but is considered an advantage.
Position Overview
Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. There are several benefits attached to the contract including posting bonuses and additional vacation days.

The Department of Finance and Accounting of the Universidad del Norte invites applications for a full-time teaching position in Taxation. We are looking for candidates with a clear commitment to continuous improvement in the teaching of Accounting, Audit, and Taxation at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to high-quality research in a developing country context. The candidate must be a Public Accountant and preference will be given to professionals with experience as part of teams in taxation and auditing. The selected candidate will teach courses on national Taxation and relations with international markets, Audit and Statutory Tax. Knowledge of two of the following software/platforms: POWER BI, advanced Excel, tax platform, and accounting software.
