Emilia Yang is an activist, artist, and researcher. Yang is currently a Ph.D. student in Media Arts + Practice in the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. She completed an M.A in Communications at Penn State University. Her work has been interconnected with digital communications, performance, and public art. Her areas of interest intersect with her activism work and include art and activism, media activism, new social movements, network theory, and digital cultural production in LatinAmerica under the lens of critical theory. She is a HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory) 2015-2016 Scholar.
