For more than 25 years, Mercedes has specialized in content management, R+D, and business development on the media industry, gaining a wide sense and vision on the entertainment business, helping production companies and media groups define their viability and content strategies.
She has worked with a wide range of clients, spanning from HBO, NBC, FOX, Discovery Networks, Gold Mercury and E! Entertainment to Sogecable, Mediaset, De Agostini, Planeta, Vocento or Grupo Caribe, among others; and with producers like David Valdes (The Green Mile, Unforgiven), Roland Joffe (The Killing Fields, The Mission) or Gabriel Beristain (Blade, SWAT, Agent Carter). Developer and pioneer of the Country Branding Entertainment model strategy, Mercedes has partnered with the Governments of Angola, Guinea, Panama, Qatar, Kazahstan, República Dominicana and Spain on consulting topics regarding audiovisual growth strategies and content management guidelines.
On the academic background, Mercedes is Professor and Member of the Board at the Screenplay and Audiovisual Development Master of the University of Los Andes (Chile); and associate professor at the University of Montevideo (Uruguay) and at the University of Navarra (Spain). She has also lectured at ISEM, UIC, and at the Politécnico Grancolombiano of Bogotá; as well as authored several academic papers published by editorials like Columbia University or the World Association of Newspapers, among others.
She regularly attends the Emmy Awards Seminars in New York, Cannes MIPCOM TV since 1988 and PROMAX since 1999.
