General Scope

The Center of Excellence in Ports, Transport and Logistics (Centre) contributes to the improvement of the operational efficiency and competitiveness of the Colombian and regional transportation and logistics system.

The Centre provides educational (short courses, diplomados, specializations) programs at managerial level, consultancy and research. Before the creation of our Centre, such specialised institution was non-existent in Colombia and the region.  All developments in Colombia and neighbouring countries (such as Panama) urgently demanded for the implementation of such a Centre. The actual demand also includes consultancy and research in the fields of transport and logistics.

The Centre offers a novel insight into the real world of supply chain management and its relation with current challenges in global and local economy.  The approach used by the Centre allows assisting the port, transport and logistics sector with high quality education, research and technical assistance necessary to increase their levels of competitiveness towards world class standards.

Universidad del Norte and STC-Group have been recognized due to their commitment to excellence on education, and now through The Centre, both organizations are dedicated to create regional personnel capacity of (supervasory, midle and high managemen) personnel with the necessary skills and competences to excel in the leadership of logistics related enterprise

Target  Group

Courses provided by the Center of Excellence in Ports, Transport and Logistics, are intended for managers in private and public organizations involved in activities related to supply chain management, port operation, transport planning, infrastructure development, freight brokers, freight forwarders, transshipment, warehousing, customs among other areas.
